Why Use an Agency Instead of an Online Service?
It may seem costly initially to use an agency, but after you run an ad on your own or try an online service, you quickly realize it is worth every cent to streamline this tedious process. It takes hours to sift through countless unqualified applicants, make preliminary screening calls, appointments for interviews, make detailed reference calls, do online searches, verify last educational levels, background checks, motor vehicle checks, copies of driver’s licenses, proof of auto insurance, licenses, First Aid and CPR certifications, get two forms of legal ID, proof of legally working in the US. Most people are surprised at how many details are involved, and it can be stressful and overwhelming. Inviting un-screened candidates into your home creates safety issues. Let us send you a few choice candidates handpicked for your needs by our helpful, responsive and knowledgeable staff. Your hardest job will be to pick between them.

Our screening process is the most rigorous in the Valley

Associations and Partnerships
We are the only Arizona Agency that is a member of APNA, the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies. We had to open up our policies, contracts, policies and operating procedures to scrutiny to be sure we were abiding by the stringent APNA Code of Ethics. Our 30 + years in the business has made us veterans in the industry. We’re the only Arizona Nanny Service that holds a membership with DEMA, The Domestic Estate Managers Association. We attend national conventions to continue to keep up with the industry.
Where do you find your candidates?
We represent professionals who have completed long term assignments and then return to us to be placed again. We build one-to one trusted relationships with our candidates and they rely on us to help them to find the position that best matches their skill sets and personality. They enthusiastically refer other professionals to us. We also cast a wide net via online resources, social networking sites, and college campuses. We are constantly recruiting new candidates locally and nationwide.
What are some typical benefits for household staff?
Most of our families give their staff a one to two week paid vacation after 6 months to a year and 6-8 paid holidays. This is not just a job to your employee, but a career, and they are normally paid 52 weeks per year. If you’re going on an extended vacation, they can do additional tasks such as home organization, servicing vehicles, scrapbooking, spring cleaning, pet care or house sitting. When the nanny is using her car for transporting children or running family errands, there’s a standard gas reimbursement per mile. Check this site for current rates. Additional benefits can be very attractive to candidates and may actually be a great tax shelter for the nanny and for you, such as a stipend for medical insurance.
How are taxes handled?
If you hire an employee to work in your home, they aren’t considered an independent contractor or an agency employee and if they are paid more than $1800 in a calendar year, you’re required to pay half of their Social Security and Medicare and you can opt to withhold state and federal taxes. Your membership with us includes a FREE consultation from the experts in their field, Breedlove and Associates. Call them at 1-888-273-3356 or use their on-line tax calculator to see what your annual responsibility will be. Breedlove & Associates specialize in household taxes and can save you time, stress and money with their 15 minute consultation, even if you don’t use their service.
Addistionally, GTM Payroll Services provides household employers with payroll processing, tax compliance, as well as different insurance offerings for you and your nanny.
