FULL-TIME NANNY / PARAPROFESSIONAL POSITION IN PARADISE VALLEY, $25/HR, ASAP!
Doubletree & Morning Glory: This amazing Paradise Valley family with an 8 year old son and a 14 year old daughter is seeking a special needs’ nanny / family assistant with a fun, sparkly personality to join their household and offer support and guidance to their son for a flexible 30-40 hour work week. Their 8 year old son has ADHD and severe anxiety and is in the 3rd grade and at this point in his life his anxiety is preventing him from attending school. He is currently at home and his family is seeking a trusted companion/ extended family member to first care for him in the home environment for the next few weeks – 1 month to build that trust and warmth and to offer him the support and encouragement he needs in order to be able to return to school. Once he is in a confident place to return to school the nanny’s day will then consist partly of caring for him at home in the afternoons and she will also attend school with him for the first 3 hrs from 8:30AM- 11:30AM serving as a companion/ paraprofessional aide and support system to assist him with the transitions and social interactions throughout the day. The time not spent at school (after 11:30AM) will be spent at home with their son helping with household transitions. The ideal schedule is approximately 8AM – 2PM with flexibility. They can offer a guaranteed minimum of 30 hrs a week and they are open to offering more hrs for the right candidate. They are flexible on the exact schedule but the mandatory hrs needed will be 8:30AM-11:30AM when he returns to school. Their son has the biggest heart, is incredibly active, smart, creative, anxious, shy at first, and very loving. He loves animals and loves to play all day. He needs a lot of attention but there is also downtime where breaks are needed (ie take dogs for a walk) and he doesn’t need to be engaged and directed at all times. Mom will be in-and-out all day and is needing this extended family member to allow her to go to the gym, run errands, etc. Dad works in a back home-office. Therefore the nanny needs to be comfortable with parents at home and working in close family dynamics in a team environment. The family has a casual yet fast-paced atmosphere in their home. Mom described their household as “not a quiet house” and therefore a quiet, meek nanny is not the best fit. Their son responds the best to high energy and fun, bubbly personalities. Personality is the #1 criteria for the family when seeking a perfect fit. The specific duties and responsibilities of the job can be created around the candidate and the strengths and skill sets she brings to the table. If her forte is organization and grocery shopping, those duties will be included. Finding a personality match and someone who becomes a member of their family is of the utmost importance. Their 14 year old daughter attends 9th grade at the same school as her brother and is independent and care will not be needed for her, unless for a date night evening shift. She is sweet, very funny, smart, crafty, creative, likes to bake, has ADHD as well, and is active. No cleaning is needed. They have a housekeeper for deep cleaning. Preparing simple meals for their son is desired. Pets: 2 dogs, 1 indoor mini pig who is so cute. Guaranteed minimum 30 hrs a week and is open to offering up to 40 hrs for the right candidate. Compensation: $25/hr. Interviews start ASAP and position starts immediately. (REF#ALPV)
