Shea & 100th St: This wonderful Scottsdale family who relocated to AZ from Canada has a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl and are seeking a reliable, proactive flexible part-time nanny to join their busy household. They were referred to us by one of our amazing veteran nannies! Their 5 year old son will be attending Shepherd of the Desert Pre-K beginning August 15th and his schedule is Monday – Friday from 8:30AM – 2:30PM. He truly thrives at school and being on a schedule. He craves one-on-one interaction and is a curious little boy, and especially loves building/creating whether it’s baking banana bread, making slime, or building an intricate train track. He had an amazing nanny from the age of 1 to 2.5 years old who really fostered this, so the family is thankful for that and is desiring the same with his next nanny. Their 2 year old daughter loves being outside. She is pretty fearless and somewhat fierce . She is very bright and is 6-12 months ahead developmentally of where her brother was at his age. She can count to 20, sing her ABCs and lots of songs, is like a parrot repeating everything she hears from her brother. The family has her enrolled at Shepherd of the Desert in their toddler “2s” class beginning August 16th and her schedule is M/W/F 8:30AM – 11:30AM. She really does thrive in social and learning environments. Drop off and pick up of the children is not needed by the nanny since Dad is home and is available for drop-off and pick up. Dad will either be present in the home or in and out so nanny must be comfortable with a parent at home. Mom sometimes works from a home office but primarily works outside of the home and Mom also travels for work 1 -3 weeks a month. The nanny’s schedule will primarily be Mon-Fri 1PM to 5:30PM, with flexibility. They can offer a guaranteed 25 hrs minimum for the week and some evenings they may need the nanny to stay later (until 7:30PM.) The nanny’s primary focus will be caring for the 2 year old daughter but they are desiring a nanny who is confident caring for both kids. In addition to afternoons, Mom does travel 1-3 weeks a month, so they do need the nanny to stay a few hours later those weeks to help getting kids to bed. Most trips are 2-3 nights (4 nights max) and Mom knows her traveling schedule weeks in advance. Other qualities that are important to the family is finding a nanny with a healthy lifestyle who enjoys making healthy (children’s) meals and any household duties that align with the kids such as their laundry , cleaning up after their meals/playing/, kitchen and the main living areas. They have a housekeeper who does the deep cleaning. Transporting the kids in the nanny’s vehicle is needed and gas is reimbursed, They encourage outings to swim lessons, music class, etc. The family describes themselves as being very flexible, low key people. They have had 3 nannies in 5 years and have most enjoyed their nannies who are social, have a positive outlook on life and are great communicators. They have had great success with their previous nannies who were very active & hands-on with learning & play. They were also very approachable with the parents & great communicators. These are important qualities they are seeking in their next nanny. They have a casual atmosphere in their household and have an 11 year sweet chihuahua. Compensation: $18 – $20/hr (gross or net). Benefits: Paid Holidays. 2 weeks Paid vacation. Interviewing starts now.
