Why Invest in an Agency Instead of an Online Service?
It may seem costly initially to use a brick & mortar boutique agency, but families quickly realize it is worth every cent to not only streamline this tedious process but also for peace of mind. It takes hours to sift through countless unqualified applicants, make preliminary screening calls, schedule appointments for interviews, make detailed reference calls, conduct online searches, verify last educational levels, background checks, motor vehicle checks, copies of driver’s licenses, proof of auto insurance, professional licenses, First Aid and CPR certifications, two forms of legal ID, proof of legally working in the US. Most people are surprised at how many details are involved, and it can be stressful and overwhelming. Inviting un-screened candidates into your home creates safety issues. Online sites cannot provide the personal touch that an agency can nor can they verify a candidate is who they say they are. Let us send you a few choice quality candidates handpicked for your needs by our helpful, responsive and knowledgeable staff. Your hardest job will be to pick between them.
What makes Caring Nannies the leading Phoenix agency?
In the last 36 years, Caring Nannies has successfully placed thousands of premier nannies and household staff in caring homes throughout the Phoenix area, making us the veteran in the industry. We have proudly built our business on referrals cultivated from those trusted relationships. Because of our reputation as the foremost agency, we attract the top candidates and get the best jobs. We pride ourselves in what we do. We value your time. We’re dedicated to finding the right match for your home. We discover who you are, what your goals and passions are, and what your needs are.
We set you up for success
We help you create a detailed job description tailored to your household. We send hand-picked candidates for your position, and encourage your thoughtful feedback after each interview. We facilitate a trial working period with your top choice(s) to solidify it is the right fit for both parties. After the placement, we work with you to craft a customized working agreement, so you get the best value from your new hire. Having all the details in writing ensures a positive, healthy and long-term relationship. We provide you with helpful employment tools. We guide you throughout the entire process, working quickly and efficiently, saving you stress and frustration. We return calls promptly and are available to answer questions or give expert advice. We keep in touch quarterly with you and the nanny throughout the placement. Our families call us for questions, advice, to be a sounding board or to find back up help.
Our screening process is the most rigorous in the Valley
Less than 8% of the candidates make it through our 13 point screening. We have a reputation of being ‘strict and selective’ and as Moms ourselves we are completely content with that. We have high expectations and standards and we hold our candidates accountable. You will only see the best of the best. Each candidate has a face to face interview with our Placement Counselor and team. Detailed reference checks are completed with all relevant past positions. Our background checks are the most thorough in the industry and include Social Security Trace, National and County Criminal background checks, Sex offender checks, Motor vehicle reports, and random drug testing. Additional criminal checks are available on an a-la carte basis. We assess personalities to ensure that your candidate has the qualities you’re looking for.
Commitment to Ongoing Training
We host appreciation parties, charity involvement and networking events so nannies can be encouraged in their professions. We offer and encourage ongoing training to enhance your staff’s skills-sets. We are sponsors annually for International Nanny Training Day and Newborn Care Specialist Foundational Training.
Associations and Partnerships
We are the only Arizona Agency approved as a member of the elite APNA, the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies. We had to open up our policies, contracts, policies and operating procedures to scrutiny to be sure we were abiding by the stringent APNA Code of Ethics. Our 35 + years in the business have made us veterans in the industry. We’re the only Arizona Nanny Service that holds a membership with DEMA, The Domestic Estate Managers Association. We are also proud members of The International Nanny Association (INA). We attend national conventions to continue to keep up with the industry and to strive to always grow and learn how to better serve our families and nannies.
Where do you find your candidates?
We represent a large pool of professionals who have completed long term assignments and then return to us to be placed again and again. We build trusted relationships with our candidates and they rely on us to help them find the position that best matches their strengths, skill sets and personality. They enthusiastically refer other professionals to us so word of mouth is the primary way we find stellar candidates. We also cast a wide net via social media, online resources, social networking sites, training programs and college campuses. We are constantly recruiting new candidates locally and nationwide.
What are some typical benefits for household staff?
It is standard for our families to give their staff a one to two week paid vacation after 6 months to a year and 6-8 paid holidays. This is not just a job to your employee, but a career, and they are normally paid 52 weeks per year. If you’re going on an extended vacation, they can do additional tasks such as home organization, servicing vehicles, spring cleaning, pet care or house sitting. When the nanny is using her car for transporting children or running family errands, there’s a standard gas reimbursement per mile. Check this site for current rates. Additional benefits can be very attractive to candidates and may actually be a great tax shelter for the nanny and for you, such as a stipend for medical insurance.
How are taxes handled?
If you hire an employee to work in your home, they aren’t considered an independent contractor or an agency employee and if they are paid more than $2100 in a calendar year (2019), you’re required to pay half of their Social Security and Medicare and you can opt to withhold state and federal taxes. Your membership with us includes a FREE consultation from the experts in their field, Breedlove and Associates. Call them at 1-888-273-3356 or use their on-line tax calculator to see what your annual responsibility will be. Breedlove & Associates specialize in household taxes and can save you time, stress and money with their 15 minute consultation, even if you don’t use their service.
Additionally, GTM Payroll Services provides household employers with payroll processing, tax compliance, as well as different insurance offerings for you and your nanny.
